March 6, 2014
Brooklyn – State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, 22nd District) will welcome Congressman Michael G. Grimm (R-C-I, 11th District) to the Gerritsen Beach section of the Senator's district, for a press conference on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at 1:30 p.m., to call on the United States Senate to approve the Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act, sponsored by Grimm, that was approved by the House earlier this week.
The press conference will take place outside of a home damaged by Super Storm Sandy located at 52 Dare Court (off Gerritsen Avenue between Cyrus Avenue and Seba Avenues).
The legislation will provide much needed relief to homeowners in flood prone areas by repealing the insurance premium increases, and creating an 18% cap on yearly increases.
Members of the media are welcome.
