Hoylman: Education Investment Incentives Act is nothing more than a corporate giveaway
Senator Brad Hoylman said, “The Senate Republicans' proposed bill is nothing more than a corporate giveaway that undermines two longstanding American principles – free, universal public education and the separation of church and state. It would siphon off money from the state's general fund that should be used to support our public schools while also providing government subsidies for private schools, including parochial institutions. Furthermore, rather than help low-income families or special-needs children, the bill is designed to benefit the wealthiest New Yorkers and LLCs. I was proud to join many of my colleagues this week in opposing this legislation."
