Senator Jack M. Martins (R-7th Senate District) recently joined with the Helen Keller National Center in Sands Point in celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA). 

     Signed into law on July 26, 1990 by President George H. W. Bush, the ADA was a giant step towards eliminating discrimination against individuals with disabilities. The ADA, together with enhancements made in 2008, gives individuals with disabilities civil rights protections and equal opportunities for access to businesses, employment, transportation, state and local government programs and services, and telecommunications.
