Senator Bonacic delivered remarks at a ribbon cutting ceremony this past Tuesday for the Golden Ridge apartments, an affordable housing complex in the Town of Thompson. Senator Bonacic was joined by local elected officials, housing advocates, mental health officials, community leaders, and residents at the event. Jonah Mandelbaum of Warwick Properties, is the developer for this project, which will be the largest affordable housing complex in Sullivan County when finished. Tuesday's ceremony celebrated the completion of Phase 1 of the construction, which includes 81 fully occupied units. There are three more phases of construction scheduled, and once fully completed, Golden Ridge will have 324 units. The project will be a total investment of $50 million. The tenants will be a mix of seniors, disabled veterans, and low income workers from Sullivan County. The units will be available on a first- come, first-serve basis.
Senator Bonacic was presented with a plaque by Amy Anderson-Winchell, President and CEO of Access: Support for Living, for his support of the Golden Ridge housing complex.
