(Albany, NY)- Senator Serrano and Assemblyman Guillermo Linares sponsored an important workshop entitled, "The Future of New York: Affordable Housing Preservation and Creation," for the 2015 SOMOS El Futuro Conference weekend in Albany. Experts in the field of housing provided information regarding the challenges our city faces in our fight to preserve affordable housing.

"This panel discussion is of critical importance right now in New York City," said Senator Serrano. "It is becoming more expensive to live in this city every day. To protect the vibrancy and diversity of our city, we must enact housing policies that keep people in their homes. As our rent regulation laws are set to expire in June, I will continue to fight for pro-tenant legislation." 

Senator Serrano is a vocal proponent of affordable housing and is the sponsor of numerous bills aimed at protecting, preserving and creating more units.
