Senator Serrano Joins Rally in Support of Services for HIV/AIDS

(Albany, NY)- Senator Serrano joined a very important rally in support of services for HIV and AIDS. Advocates traveled to Albany, many from the South Bronx and East Harlem, to fight for fair housing, better treatment, respect and ultimately an end to the AIDS epidemic.
"I am proud to join in this fight to ensure that those living with HIV/AIDS can live happy and healthy lives," said Senator Serrano. "We are making tremendous strides to combat HIV/AIDS, but we have so much yet to fight for in terms of prevention and an ultimate cure. I am committed to making sure that all of our at-risk community has access to the best healthcare, housing and social services.
Senator Serrano is longtime advocate of LGBT rights, Senator Serrano has supported many progressive bills in the past, including the Marriage Equality Act. The Senator is also a co-sponsor of various other pieces of legislation that are championed by the LBGT community, such as S61 (GENDA), which requires medical assistance managed care providers to provide coverage for medically necessary prescription drugs and medical supplies.
