(Middletown, NY)-Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mr. Hope) is pleased to announce that he has secured $50,000 through the State and Municipal Grant program, for the Village of New Paltz, that will help make a much needed upgrade to its Wastewater Treatment Facility. The existing mixer mechanism in the primary digester at the Village of New Paltz Wastewater Facility has exceeded its useful operating life, is beyond repair and is no longer functional, and this grant will help the Village make the necessary upgrade.

“Strong infrastructure is crucial for municipalities to provide the necessary services to its resident’s”, said Senator Bonacic. “I have no doubt that this grant will help the Village of New Paltz provide the critical upgrades it needs to continue to serve the people.”

“Infrastructure spending is expensive and becomes more expensive when updates and repairs are deferred. Senator Bonacic’s $50,000 award towards a new digester of sewage sludge for New Paltz’s Wastewater Facility is greatly appreciated from a taxpayer and environmentalist’s perspective,” said New Paltz Mayor Tim Rogers.
