Senator Serrano announced that he is a co-sponsor for the Comprehensive Contraceptive Coverage Act (S.6013). This legislation will help ensure New Yorkers have access to emergency contraceptive services and the freedom of choice to make personal decisions about their health care.

"I firmly believe that we must continue to explore legislative proposals, like this one, to enhance individual health and family planning. Insurance companies should not be penalizing New Yorkers for utilizing the birth control method, particularly emergency contraception, that they and their medical provider agree is most appropriate for them. I am proud to support this legislation and will work hard this legislative session to ensure that it becomes law."
