BROOKLYN, NY (5/16/16) – On Saturday, May 14, State Senator Kevin Parker hosted his 9th Annual Prom Dress Giveaway at the Samuel J. Tilden HS Campus in Brooklyn. In partnership with Macys, Lydia’s Closet, and Delta Rho Omega, Senator Parker provided free prom dresses to over 300 graduating high school students. During the event, students enjoyed live make-up tutorials, hair styling consultations, raffles, and giveaways from the radio station Hot 97.
Excited by being able to bring everyone together for such as great cause, Senator Parker said, “For most families, senior year can be a very exciting but expensive time. It is important that I do my part to ensure that no student within my district and surrounding areas is unable to attend their prom due to financial restraints,” he added. “In addition to our sponsors I want to give a special thank you to Metro Plus, Mary Kay, Freda Miller Park Lane Jewelry, Maestro Entertainment Inc., FDNY Explorers, Tilden Legacy, Nakia Showers, Diamond Dollz Virgin Hair and all of our event partners for understanding my vision for our community,” concluded the Brooklyn lawmaker.
