RITCHIE ANNOUNCES FREE OSWEGO COUNTY TIRE DISPOSALS
May 10, 2016
State Senator Patty Ritchie is urging those with waste tires to get rid of to mark their calendars for upcoming free tire disposal events taking place at all Oswego County transfer stations on May 14th and June 18th.
“Here in Central New York, we have seen firsthand the devastating impact mosquito borne diseases can have on public health,” said Senator Ritchie.
“I’m pleased to once again team up with Oswego County to help ‘Fight the Bite’ and stop the spread of EEE through these two free waste tire disposal events.”
Made possible through special grant funding secured by Senator Ritchie, the events are being hosted in conjunction with the Oswego County Legislature and the Department of Solid Waste. Since 2013, similar events have helped the Central and Northern New York regions dispose of nearly 40,000 tires.
Events will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on May 14th and June 18th at the following locations:
Bristol Hill: 3125 State Route 3
Hannibal: 1167 County Route 7
Hastings: 1391 US Route 11
Oswego: 700 East Seneca St.
Pulaski: 100 County Route 2A
Residents are permitted to dispose of up to 12 tires with the usual fee being waived. Please note that tractor tires must be cut into four pieces.
