RITCHIE JOB FAIR HELPS RESIDENTS MAKE CAREER CONNECTIONS IN ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY
May 27, 2016
More than 50 employers were on hand Thursday to meet with those looking for work at State Senator Patty Ritchie’s annual St. Lawrence County Job Fair.
Held at the Richard G. Lockwood Civic Center in Ogdensburg, the event is the second of two events hosted by Senator Ritchie to connect job-seekers with local employers. Since 2012, nearly 2,500 people have attended the annual events.
“Job hunting can be tough and that’s why every year, I host events to help take the stress out of the process by giving people an opportunity to meet with dozens of employers—as well as get valuable career advice from experts—in one place,” said Senator Ritchie.
“I would like to thank the employers who helped to make this event such a success and wish those looking for work the best of luck as they continue their job search.”
Continuing her efforts to connect people with new opportunities, earlier this week Senator Ritchie joined fellow members of the New York State Senate Task Force on Workforce Development in releasing a report on how the state can enhance workforce training and improve employee readiness.
