Senator Bill Larkin (R-C-I, 39th District) announced today that he secured a $135,000 grant for the Town of Cornwall Highway Department to purchase a new dump truck and roller.
"Maintenance of our local roads, highways and bridges is crucial to the safety of our residents. That's why I'm pleased to announce that I was able to secure a State and Municipal (SAM) grant for Cornwall's Highway Department," said Senator Larkin.
The Cornwall Highway Department maintains over 42 miles of roadway and 6.6 miles of sidewalk in the Town, as well as winter maintenance on 12.5 miles of County roads. The Highway Superintendent is also responsible for the Town’s Sanitation Department.
“Senator Larkin continues to show his effectiveness in obtaining much needed funds to address the infrastructure needs for the Town of Cornwall”, said Eugene Conley, Cornwall Highway Superintendent. “When I call Senator Larkin I know that I am calling someone who can deliver results and this just another example of our Senator coming through for our community.”
