Helping Our Ag Industry Grow: Ritchie Asks Farmers To Weigh In Through New Survey
June 16, 2017
In an effort to help New York’s farmers boost their businesses, Senate Agriculture Committee Chair Senator Patty Ritchie is inviting farmers to weigh in on ways the state can help its leading industry grow through her new “Farm Family Survey.”
“If we want to strengthen New York’s agriculture industry, there’s no better way to do so than to listen to the men and women who help it grow each and every day,” said Senator Ritchie.
“Through this survey, we can gather feedback that will help us to identify ways the state can assist in helping to provide our hardworking farmers with new opportunities to expand their businesses.”
The survey seeks input on a number of issues, including milk prices, the impact of recent weather and farm expenses that the state could help in offsetting, among others.
Farmers can access the survey via Senator Ritchie’s website, www.ritchie.nysenate.gov. The deadline to participate is July 17th.
Senator Ritchie’s Farm Family Survey builds on her past efforts to support New York farmers. Earlier this year, she successfully advocated for record funding in the new state budget for agriculture—for the third year in a row—totaling $51 million.
