Senator Serrano joined Governor Andrew Cuomo, Governor Ricardo Rossello, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., Assemblyman Marcos Crespo and other colleagues and supporters in the Bronx for a rally asking for Congress to fund a $94.4 billion disaster relief package for Puerto Rico. Congress passed a $36.5 billion aid package in October, but that amount is not enough to rebuild homes and fully restore electricity to the island.
“I was proud to attend a rally at Casita Maria in the Bronx with Governor Andrew Cuomo, Governor Ricardo Rossello, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., Assemblyman Marcos Crespo & many others in support of Puerto Rico recovery efforts. We need an increased federal relief package for the people of Puerto Rico who are still living without power and basic necessities due to the mass destruction caused by Hurricane Maria.”
