“Today, the State Senate put forth a budget document that prioritizes job creation and economic development while ensuring public safety and protection of our most vulnerable. We disagree with the reckless tax-and-spend culture put forth by the Governor and Assembly Democrats. New Yorkers already send far too much of their hard-earned money to Albany - we simply don’t need an additional billion dollars in taxes and fees. By restraining spending, eliminating red tape, reducing taxes and energy costs; we will be doing a tremendous service to the working families, small businesses, and seniors that are so vital to our community. Finally, it’s time to make our neighborhoods safer and our communities stronger. That’s why we’re allocating record funds to protect our schools and children; we’re equipping law enforcement with the tools and resources they need; and we’re investing in mental health services, treatment programs, and community non-profits to help our most vulnerable.”
