Nothing can be changed if it's not faced head-on. Our children must be taught in school about symbols like the swastika and the noose because throughout history these symbols were used to hurt and intimidate people. If our children understand their significance then they will be more likely to practice tolerance.
Senator Carlucci co-sponsors legislation (S.6648), which requires instruction regarding symbols of hate to be incorporated into the curriculum for grades six through twelve.
