Earlier this week in Oswego, State Senator Patty Ritchie attended a meeting of the Lake Ontario Resiliency and Economic Development Initiative (REDI) Commission. As part of the State’s flood relief package, the commission was assembled to work with local officials to develop plans to improve waterfront infrastructure that at the same time, strengthen economies in flood prone regions.

At the meeting, Senator Ritchie was able to talk with local leaders from throughout Oswego County about the projects they plan to pursue to achieve those goals and rebuild following this year’s record flooding.

Last month, Senator Ritchie, along with Assemblymen Will Barclay and Mark Walczyk, created an online petition calling for the suspension of the water level plan, Plan 2014, until problems resulting from record high water can be addressed.  The petition currently has nearly 1,000 signatures and can be signed by clicking here.
