Senate Deputy Leader Gianaris Calls For Closing NYC Public Schools Amid Coronavirus Crisis

NEW YORK – Senate Deputy Leader Michael Gianaris called on the City of New York to close public schools amid the coronavirus outbreak.

“The stealth nature of coronavirus breeds denial of the crisis’s severity, but actions we take today determine how many live or die in coming weeks. It is time to close New York City public schools and shut down New York City,” said Senate Deputy Leader Michael Gianaris. “There are no easy answers here, but short term sacrifice will lead to long term benefit”
