Statement From Senate Deputy Leader Gianaris On Closure Of Court Square Library

LONG ISLAND CITY, N.Y. – Senate Deputy Leader Michael Gianaris issued the following statement upon Queens Public Library’s announcement that the Court Square Library will close as of February 15th.
“I am heartbroken to learn of the upcoming closing of the Court Square Library, which is a fantastic and needed resource for a growing community. I was proud to successfully fight to prevent its closure last year for and will continue working with our community and QPL to fight for a new, permanent site for the Court Square Library.”
Senator Gianaris had pushed the owners of One Court Square to extend their lease with the Queens Public Library and keep the facility open several months longer than originally planned.
