State senator James Sanders Jr. said: “I am deeply saddened and disturbed by the recent mass shootings at three Asian staffed massage parlors in Georgia, which has left eight people dead, four of them Asian women. Although these incidents have not been ruled hate crimes yet, the increase in hate crimes against Asians and Asian-Americans has grown exponentially since the start of coronavirus and it needs to stop. These are innocent people that have no connection to this deadly disease and they should be treated with the same respect as any other citizen of this great nation.”
