FISHKILL, NY - Yesterday, Senator Sue Serino, the HYATT House Fishkill and the American Red Cross Hudson Valley Chapter partnered to host a local blood drive to help address the current severe blood shortage and to give community members the opportunity to conveniently donate.
“Thanks to the generosity of our community, yesterday’s blood drive potentially impacted 111 lives,” said Senator Sue Serino. “With blood donation supplies at a critical low in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, I cannot thank all of yesterday’s donors enough. Our community always goes above and beyond in times of need, and yesterday’s event was another incredible example of that.”
The Red Cross’s goal for the event was to collect 35 units of blood. Yesterday’s event exceeded the goal to with 37 units of blood being collected, including two POWER RED donations.
Neighbors who could not participate yesterday, but still wish to make a donation, can find a full list of upcoming Red Cross Blood Drives, by clicking here. The Red Cross is strictly following all health and safety guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
