Senator Dan Stec (R,C-Queensbury) announced that Governor Hochul signed into law his legislation to implement the potential constitutional amendment authorizing continued use and improvement of the Mount Van Hoevenberg Olympic Sports Complex in Essex County. Stec was the prime sponsor on Senate bill S.8047, which allows for vital improvements to the training facilities in North Elba, while also ensuring protections for the Adirondack Park Forest Preserve.
“The legislation implementing the constitutional amendment authorizing continued use and improvement of the Mount Van Hoevenberg Olympic Sports Complex in Essex County is vital to our region. It resolves a longstanding issue in the county, ensures our Olympic facilities remain state-of-the-art and protects the Adirondack Park Forest Preserve. I’m pleased that the governor has signed it into law and ensured that if this constitutional amendment passes, this important work can be completed.”
