Senator Rolison and Assemblyman Maher Host Press Conference Highlighting Childcare Funding Shortfall Impacting Local Families & Providers
July 22, 2025
Senator Rob Rolison (Ranking Member of the Senate Children & Families Committee) and Assemblyman Brian Maher (R,C-Walden) co-hosted a press conference to raise awareness about the critical shortfall in the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP). The lack of adequate state funding is leaving working families across the Hudson Valley without the support they need for affordable, reliable child care.
To accompany, Senator Rolison issued the following statement:
“Child care is not a luxury—it’s a necessity for working families across the Hudson Valley. Right now, the Child Care Assistance Program is falling short, leaving parents without the reliable, affordable care they depend on to stay in the workforce and support their families. I’m proud to stand with Assemblymember Maher to shine a light on this crisis and to fight for the funding our communities need. We must do better—for our families, our children, and our local economy.”
