Senator Ryan Announces Special Unclaimed Funds Mobile Office Hours

State Senator Christopher J. Ryan (SD-50) today announced two upcoming Unclaimed Funds Mobile Office Hours events in partnership with the office of Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli, giving residents an opportunity to check if they have money waiting to be claimed from New York State Office of the State Comptroller.

Staff from both offices will be on site to help residents search the state’s unclaimed funds database and begin the process of recovering money that may belong to them. Unclaimed funds can include old bank accounts, uncashed checks, insurance payments, unused gift cards, security deposits, or other funds that have been turned over to the state after a period of inactivity.

“Too often people don’t realize that money is sitting in the state’s unclaimed funds system with their name on it,” said Senator Ryan. “These mobile office hours make it easy for residents to check on the spot and get help claiming what belongs to them. I’m grateful to Comptroller DiNapoli and his team for partnering with us to bring this service directly into our communities.”

Unclaimed funds Mobile Office Hours will be held:
Monday, March 23 | 3:00–6:00 p.m.
Northern Onondaga Public Library – Brewerton Branch, 5440 Bennett St, Brewerton, NY 13029
Tuesday, April 14 | 4:00–7:00 p.m.
Liverpool Public Library, 310 Tulip St., Liverpool, NY 13088

Staff will help residents search the database and provide guidance on how to submit a claim. For more information about unclaimed funds, please visit https://www.osc.ny.gov/unclaimed-funds.
