July 2, 2026
State Senator Christopher J. Ryan (SD-50) announced that he has awarded $40,000 in grant funding to the Central New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (CNYSPCA). The funding will be used to fund the organization’s general operations such as purchasing supplies and administrative costs.
“The CNYSPCA has been an incredible community partner for over a century, providing compassionate care for vulnerable animals while connecting families throughout Central New York with loving pets,” said Senator Ryan. “As the CNYSPCA continues to transition to new leadership, this funding will assist the organization’s vital day-to-day operations, from caring for animals in need to supporting the dedicated staff and volunteers who make its mission possible. I am proud to support the CNYSPCA and thank them for the invaluable work they do every day to strengthen our community.”
The $40,000 grant comes from the Legislative Initiative Funding Program (LIF), which allows State Legislators to award funding to not-for-profit companies, municipalities, and other organizations found eligible by the State Legislature.
