Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. thanked his summer interns for their hard work, dedication, and meaningful contributions throughout the internship program.

“Each summer we get some of the best of the best youth from our community and allow them to showcase their talent while learning about government and community service,” Addabbo said. “I am sure each of them has a bright future ahead of them as they pursue their studies and careers.”

Over the course of the summer, the interns supported the Senator’s office while taking an active role in public service. They also worked to help strengthen community outreach, assist with day-to-day office needs, and learned how government operates both internally and externally. 

The internship concluded with each intern presenting a capstone project which they consistently worked on through their time at Addabbo’s office. Their task was researching, analyzing, and developing solutions to a community issue or problem. After, the interns presented their findings to Senator Addabbo and members of his staff.

“This summer’s interns brought energy and creativity to my office,” Addabbo said. “They didn’t just learn about the government, they became actively involved in the tasks and activities we tackle each day, from helping constituents and hosting events to visiting senior centers and attending community meetings. They each expressed a genuine commitment to making a difference and I am proud of the contributions they made this summer.”
