Senator Pam Helming recently attended a Cub Scout crossover ceremony on March 14, honoring members of Farmington Cub Scout Pack 50 as they advanced to Victor Troop 61. The ceremony recognized five Scouts who earned Scouting’s highest Cub Scout honor, the Arrow of Light rank, and officially crossed over to the Scouts BSA program.
The Scouts recognized were Joshua Englert, Alexander Istvan, Xander Gfeller, Ethan Gillenkirk, and Joshua Kleeman. During their time in Cub Scouts, these young leaders accumulated a combined 33 nights of overnight camping and completed more than 50 hours of community service, demonstrating commitment, leadership, and service to others.
Senator Helming said, “Scouting plays such an important role in shaping young leaders and instilling values that last a lifetime. This is such a meaningful milestone, and these Scouts should be very proud of all they’ve accomplished. Their commitment to leadership, community service, and personal growth is inspiring, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact they will continue to make in their schools and communities.”
Also in attendance were Assemblywoman Andrea Bailey, Ontario County Sheriff David Cirencione, Chief Communications Officer Steve DeChick, and Town of Farmington Supervisor Peter Ingalsbe. The ceremony was led by Cubmaster Dan Walton and incoming Scoutmaster Paul Wohlrab.
