Senator Patrick M. Gallivan (R-C, Elma) is partnering with local municipalities and GreenSheen Paint to host a series of free paint recycling events across the 60th New York State Senate District this October.
Residents are invited to drop off leftover household architectural paint, including latex, oil-based, stains, primers, and varnishes in original containers up to 5 gallons.
“This is a great opportunity to clean out your garage or basement and keep these materials out of landfills,” Senator Gallivan said. “These collection events are free and open to all residents, regardless of where you live, but you do have to register to participate.”
Materials will be collected at the following locations:
Hamburg: Saturday, October 17, 2026 | 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM | Erie County Fairgrounds - 5600 McKinley Pkwy. This event is also accepting leftover batteries. Register here
East Aurora: Saturday, October 24, 2026 | 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM | Parkdale Elementary School - 141 Girard Ave. Register here.
West Seneca: Saturday, October 31, 2026 | 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM | East Middle School - 1445 Center Rd. Register here.
Products such as aerosol spray paint, paint thinners, marine/auto coatings, and unlabeled or leaking containers cannot be accepted.
The events are also sponsored by Erie County, NYS Assemblymember Jonathan Rivera, the Town of Aurora, Village of East Aurora, The Climate Smart Community Taskforce, and the Town of West Seneca.
