Albany, NY--On Wednesday, June 17, the Legislative Commission on Rural Resources released their fourth annual summary of the New York State Enacted Budget. The annual report offers a summary of rural-related items in the Budget and includes background and analysis across all issues and sectors.
"We value our unique roles in the Legislature of both aggregating information from rural perspectives to staff and members here in Albany as well as disseminating how the decisions made here in the Capitol will impact the communities that we serve. Each year we are proud of this document in that it is both comprehensive and easily digestible. It's important to us that rural areas are informed of about the various ways that policy and spending will impact their lives, so we look forward to distributing this after every legislative session," said Executive Director Corey Mosher.

The bipartisan Legislative Commission on Rural Resources is composed of members from both the Senate and the Assembly. Albany's only independent body focused on the needs of rural New York, its goal is to promote and protect the state’s rural resources by making recommendations to the Legislature on policies and programs. The Commission is led by their chairs, Senator Rachel May and Assemblymember Anna Kelles.
