250th Anniversary of America Celebration

Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. is partnering with Sail4th 250 to host a celebration commemorating the 250th Anniversary of the United States and to honor our country’s veterans. It will take place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at the Woodhaven American Legion Post 118, located at 89-02 91st Street, Woodhaven, NY 11421.

The festivities will feature live music performed by Harmony 4 All, light refreshments, complimentary 250th Anniversary gifts (while supplies last), and an opportunity to sign up for free tickets to experience the maritime celebration at the Ports of New York and New Jersey from July 5th to July 7th.

At the afternoon event, attendees can watch educational archival footage from past maritime celebrations which took place in 1976, 1986 and 2000. Senator Addabbo will also present Sail4th 250 with a proclamation. Sail4th 250 is “an official multi-state, high-profile international tall ship and government project formed to celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States,” as described on its website.

“This event will provide a great afternoon of fun, community togetherness and patriotic spirit as we commemorate this important Semiquincentennial and recognize the selfless bravery and courage of our veterans,” Addabbo said. “I hope attendees will enjoy themselves, feel a sense of pride in our nation and share what they have learned with others.”

This event is free and open to the public. All are welcome.
