Having Neir’s remaining open in Woodhaven seemed to mean to me that the earth continued to spin correctly on its axis. Having this iconic tavern stay open represents a positive feeling throughout the community. While it is extremely tough to maintain a business in this city, having Neir’s work through its many hurdles gives possible hope to other businesses who are struggling. I appreciate the efforts of the Mayor’s office, the Queens Chamber of Commerce, the owner of the property, my colleagues in government, Queens EDC, NYC Small Business Services and certainly Neir’s owner, Loycent Gordon, for resolving the issues that allowed Neir’s to continue its legacy in Woodhaven.
