Senator Addabbo Statement on Downstate Casino License Initial Approval

Senator Joseph P. Addabbo Jr., Chairman of the New York State Senate Committee on Racing, Gaming and Wagering, said: “I applaud the members of the New York State Gaming Facility Location Board for unanimously backing all three casino bids – Bally’s casino proposal in the Bronx, as well as Resorts World and the Metropolitan Park developments in Queens. This decision moves us closer to a final license approval by the Gaming Commission by the end of the year and closer to realizing the significant benefits for New York— over 10,000 union jobs, billions in revenue, infrastructure improvements, funding for the MTA, and support for problem-gambling programs.”
