Senator Addabbo Donates Flag Ahead of Memorial Day
May 14, 2026
Senator Addabbo joins members of Woodhaven American Legion Post 118 and Women's Auxillary to admire the newly flown flag.
Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. donated an American Flag to the Woodhaven American Legion Post 118 on May 8, 2026. It was hoisted and now flies over the Woodhaven Veterans Memorial Plaza, located at Forest Parkway and Jamaica Avenue.
Senator Addabbo has also donated a POW-MIA Flag to be added soon. He will retire the previous American Flag through a local veteran’s group, to ensure it receives the dignity and respect it deserves.
“I am proud to be able to provide these flags to honor our country and our veterans, which is especially poignant so close to Memorial Day and as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States,” Addabbo said. “I hope that when passersby see Old Glory flying high, they will feel patriotism and pride.”
